Handcrafted in Yorkshire, Made for Everyone

Over 12 years of handcrafting beds in the north of England, every piece is exclusively made for you.

Zenna is an independent, family-run bed maker rooted in Yorkshire’s long tradition of furniture making. We handcraft bed frames like ottoman storage beds and divan bases in our own workshop, from solid timber and fabrics chosen to last rather than to photograph well. Every bed is handcrafted by our experts here in our UK factory. We provide you with fabric swatches so you can decide the texture, the colour, and the material.

Why We Started

You find a bedroom you love in a magazine or online, you go looking for the bed, and what you find is rows of near-identical frames boxed, flat-packed, and built to be sold quickly rather than to last. This is where Zenna fixes your frustration.

The bed is the one piece of furniture you use every single day. It felt wrong that something so central to the home was so often an afterthought, chosen from whatever happened to be in stock.

So we set out to make beds properly again. We kept our manufacturing here in the UK, sourced our materials locally, and built every bed for the person who ordered it. Made by hand, made to order, and made to be kept.

How Your Bed Is Made

Every Zenna bed is made from scratch after you order it, which is exactly what lets you choose the details.

You Choose

Fabric, size, texture and style. We send free swatches first, so you can adjust with the aesthetics of your room before committing to anything.

We Build the Frame

Each frame is cut and constructed by hand in our Yorkshire workshop, using solid timber and joinery.

We Upholster by Hand

The padding is layered, the fabric is fitted, and details like winged headboard buttoning are finished.

We Check, then Deliver

Every bed is inspected before it leaves us and arrives at your door fully assembled. No boxes, no flat-pack, no building it yourself.

Made by People Who Care

Our beds are built by skilled craftspeople in our Yorkshire workshop.

We started Zenna to connect regular furniture that is made in large amounts with designer furniture that can be very expensive. We bridge the gap between mass-produced items and overpriced labels, bringing high-end, handcrafted British design to every single bedroom.

That care is the difference you feel when you sit on a Zenna bed. It's why the frame doesn't creak, why the upholstery sits cleanly, and why the bed still looks right years after it arrives.

What We Believe

A bed should be chosen, not settled for.

Your fabric, your size, your style made around you, rather than the other way around.

Quality beats Speed.

We build to order because that's how you make something genuinely worth keeping.

Vintage British craft still matters.

Skilled handmade work is getting harder to find, and we think it's worth protecting.

Workshop

Inside the Workshop

Carpenters, upholsterers, finishers, and perfectionists

We have a workshop in Yorkshire, a room that smells of cut timber, clean fabric, and a handful of skilled craftspeople who have been making beds for years. At Zenna, every bed or frame we create passes through expert pairs of hands before it reaches you. From layering the padding by hand and building depth a machine would flatten to setting the buttoning on a winged headboard and fitting the gas piston in an ottoman base. We also perform in-house quality checking so it sits square and reaches its destination.

Sustainability

Zenna's Commitment to Sustainability

Locally sourced, made to order, built to stay

The most sustainable bed is one you don't have to replace. Zenna takes sustainability very seriously. That is why we take orders and then start custom production. We do not keep surplus stock, no clearance sales, no unsold frames to get rid of. Most furniture waste happens before a customer is ever involved, and made-to-order avoids that entirely. We source timber and materials locally where we can, and every bed is made in Yorkshire rather than imported and rebadged. We believe that a solid timber frame that's upholstered properly will outlast several flat-packed ones.
